Customer Reviews:
Precise, quiet scales September 9, 2010 D. Johnson (Houston, TX) Our old scale died and I needed a new one. I looked at the reviews on line and this one was rated well. I observed that EatSmart responded to the complaints in their old model that required pushing the button before stepping on the scale and took it upon themselves to replace the models of the reviewers to give them this newer model that needs only to be stepped on to be activated. Their customer service and responsiveness impressed me.
The response is reproducible and seems reliable. I have not calibrated the scales to verify them, but I believe them.
The other thing that I noticed when I got the scales is that they don't groan when I stand on them. I'm not heavy, but our old scales always groaned and creaked when I stepped on them. That used to annoy me. These do not make any of those noises.
Thanks.
Superb product, outstanding seller September 8, 2010 Dr. Goetz K. Oertel (Potomac, MD) This bathroom scale is well designed, works reliably, and is pleasant to look at. It shows weight in increments of 0.2 pounds and is probably much more precise than that because I found it to be 100% repeatable. I believe it to be about ten times more precise and more repeatable than older spring-type scales. And the weight reading does not fluctuate when one shifts one's weight around while standing on the scale. That is a huge advantage over the spring-type models - some of which would show several pounds of deviation when one shifted weight while standing on the scale. Once you have seen the EatSmart Precision Digital scale in operation, you will want to own one.
I find it interesting to measure body weight with 0.2 lbs precision and to observe changes in weight over days or weeks, and even at different hours of the same day. That helps follow one's weight control regimen. Amazingly, it even motivates me to control my weight because I can see the effects promptly and conveniently. This newer model does not require "tapping" the scale before a measurement - as the older model did. Instead, there is nothing to prepare - just step on it and the weight shows up within seconds.
It seems that this scale does more than measure and display weight digitally instead of mechanically as the older style scales did. Rather, the amazing stability of the reading - regardless of how one shifts one's weight around while standing on the scale - suggests that the designers measure the weight at several points - probably four - and display the sum of the readings from the different measuring points. I do not know if that is precisely how they do it - but it is clear that their approach is sensible and, most importantly, performs outstandingly.
In some: 5 stars for design, 5 stars for performance, and 5 stars for appearance of the scale.
The seller, too, gets 5 stars for packaging, shipping, and timeliness.
All you need. September 8, 2010 Pamela H Smith (Vista, CA USA) I am very glad I bought this scale as it removes any doubt from my mind what my weight is doing. The one I have has the step-on feature and workes every time. Received scale on time if not early.Would reccomend this highly for purchase.
Love it! September 8, 2010 Stephen Andrews (Brooklyn, NY) Love it! Love it! Love it! This is just what me and my partner needed to aid us in our weight loss efforts. No need to second guess what you weigh because of where the dial lies. Just get on it and kaboom. The display is big enough that you're not second guessing what you weigh :-)
It does it's job well! September 7, 2010 t1j2f3 I wanted a scale that would weigh me, that's it. If that's what you are looking for buy this one.
This scale is accurate each and every time I step on it. I have tested it by getting on and off with weights and it remains accurate. Not only does it do its job well but it looks nice and has an easy to read display that is back-lit so you can see it in low lighting.
