Like a lot of products, this CRKT is assembled in Taiwan, but it uses quality components with a superior and safe design. It has a second lock system when it is open that is a button that you simply click forward which absolutely prevents the blade from closing on your fingers. The Aus 8 steel blade comes razor sharp, and the serrated section easily cuts tendons, hide, etc. I have a number of knives, including two smaller CRKT knives. This is the largest folder I have. As with most folders, it gets blood, hair, etc. in it when you clean a large animal, but it easily washes out with sprayed water. It is a bit heavy, but is truly heavy duty. Though it has a versatile clip carrying system, it is not a 'pocket' knife. Available at a very reasonable price here, and far superior to many other knives I've seen for comparable price. You won't be disappointed with this knife....
