Stimulating board book. March 11, 2010

My 14 month old daughter loves this book. Some of the reviews said that there were too many pictures on the pages, but I think this is great. We play a game where I ask her certain animals that she's familiar with (she especially likes the kitties) and then she'll pick them out of the rest. Gradually she's been learning more animals, so the fact that there are lots of pictures on one page is a good thing. She picks up the book and brings it to us when she wants to play. She'll also sit and look through it on her own, pointing at animals and either naming them or making the sound that they make. I find this book has really helped her learn new animals. She also likes to chew on it too, which is a whole different thing...but the book is priced so well that It's alright if she tears it up. I really like this product for my daughter. She's the perfect age for it.

My daughter got this book for her first birthday, and she's been in love with it ever since. The book itself is a great size, large enough for her to turn the pages with ease and to carry under her arm. It's a board book, so the pages themselves are nice and thick. My daughter has unfortunately torn a few books that are made with regular paper pages, so we're only doing board books for now.
The pictures are fantastic. Each page has several animals, each in their own brightly colored square. At the bottom of the page it gives a descriptor of an animal or its habitat and asks 'which animal am I?'. Now that my daughter is 14 months, she can identify different animals and is starting to pick out which one oinks, which one swims, etc. It's made a fun learning game out of reading the book.
Overall, highly recommended! For the price you just can't go wrong, and your little one will LOVE it!

I bought this for my 2 month old for christmas, thinking he could use it when he was older, but it's cardbord and can be proped open and he just loves to stare at it while lying on the floor!
