Absolutely my all time favorite children's book. My mom read this book to me when I was growing up and I dutifully bring it to every baby shower I go to now. There are so many little details on each page. I love the little flea! My mom used to make us hunt for it while she was reading. Every now and then when my husband is all curled up napping my mind flashes back to the scenes of this book and I think "and in that house there is a bed, a cozy bed in a napping house, where EVERYONE is sleeping". Makes me smile.

I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my 18 month old. She and I both love to read this book. She picks up on the repetition and likes to point out all the animals on evey page. I love that it is a board book too which means it will be around for baby #2 too. Great book!

My 4 month old LOVES this book. I think it must have something to do with the repetitive text. He literally screams with delight from start to finish. It's also fun to point out the foreshadowing in the illustrations. Apparently, it's just too exciting to lull my guy into sleep. I don't wanna give away the ending (snicker) - but reading this book is a perfect ritual for waking up from naptime.

I bought this book for my 18 month old daughter. It took a few times before she seemed to like it, but now it is one of her favorites. The pictures in the beginning are dark (it is raining) but I think that was an initial turn off to her. Once she started to get the story she seems to understand, and always points out that is is raining at the beginning. A cute nap/nighttime book.
